Is there a better browser than Internet Explorer ... And it's free!

If you're a typical user of Microsoft Internet Explorer (E), you probably have had problems with viruses, spam, computer attacks and whatnot. The fact is that IE is the browser aa very good in many ways, but the bad guys just love to hack at it and bombard you with annoying insects.

However, there is a better browser available which is not subject to all of these viruses and attacks.

This browser is called Mozilla Firefox from mozilla.org, and is also freely available. All you have to do is download it from http://www.mozilla.com.

Now, what you might ask, is mozilla.org?

Mozilla.org is a non-profit foundation that exists to provide organizational, legal and financial assistance for the Mozilla open-source software project. Open source software means that the products are literally the foundation of the work of hundreds of software engineers and programmers throughout the world who contribute their skills and competencies for Mozilla products.

Why Firefox "the better browser?

In the first place, is less attention from hackers which means a smaller number of viruses, et al. Secondly, when hackers are discovering a flaw in Firefox, the member of Mozilla.org on the run, and I mean quickly, to solve the problem. Personally I have seen three flaws discovered in Firefox in the past six months and all were fixed and patches provided within two days.

Thirdly, Firefox has many features still missing in IE. Probably the best thing is something called "tabs", which allows users to open many different websites at the same time, and then the card back and forth between them by simply cliking on the tabs. For example, I have six tabs open at this time, representing six different websites. Theoretically, I could have 12, 15 or 20 sites open simultanrously, but probably only confuse me.

In addition, Firefox has drag-and-drop tabs, improved pop-up blocker, best live bookmarks, a great download manager, and a new automatic update system that alerts you whenever security updates and features become available,

The current version of Firefox is 1.5. It also has all the things you would expect with IE - bookmarks, tools, a link to free e-hot, and so on. You can also download a number of different plug-ins to customize Firefox to your needs. For example, you can add FlashGot, Adblock, PDF viewer, an RSS news reader, QuickTime, and more.

The fact is that Firefox is fast and easy to download. You can try and if you do not like, just go back to Internet Explorer. However, my bet is that once you've used, I kiss IE goodbye .......
