Team Building - Experiential Events to build your team

Many consulting and training to offer customers an array of experiential team building. They almost always seem to be shrouded in mystery and psychological debriefing process-oriented discussions. These programs can be very effective, but a consultant can never fully understand the unique personality of the client. Our research indicates that trainers and employees of any company knows more about the philosophy and its special challenges of an external consultant.

Trainers and employees are best suited to determine the type of team building more effective in their particular situation. This column is designed to help trainers and training managers to develop their unique team building program best suited for their company and employees. This does not exclude the assistance of a qualified consultant. In contrast, a consultant is a valuable resource, and should be consulted to provide expertise and "fine tuning". But understanding the basic concepts of group dynamics and team development will provide the knowledge necessary to ask the right questions, to establish formal objectives, and make the right decisions about the organization of the team centered.

Team building is an important part of productivity today. In a recent article in Forbes said, "... Americans must not become Japanese to compete with the Japanese. But we need to work harder at what they do best, and they need to build teamwork and confidence and keep questioning the old ways of doing things. " If there is trust and respect among colleagues, the team will never work properly. This does not mean that all employees should be best of friends. One need not be best friends with a co-worker, but there must be a high degree of trust and mutual understanding.

There are essentially two types of trust: I trust you when the show "and" Do you trust until proven otherwise "Both are valid and effective models for establishing a relationship the techniques presented here will!. Trainers to enlighten the participants who enroll in a philosophy.

Two great quotes will be the basis for the team approach in the columns below. The first is by Galileo (updated a bit 'to include all of), "You can not teach anyone anything ... you can only help him find out for themselves."

The well-known phrase: I Hear, I Forget - I See, I remember - I Do, I understand - certainly applies to team building as well. Experience is the best teacher. It provides a real example of the concepts they are presenting. It gives your students a forum to practice and experiment. This "laboratory" should be a non-threatening, neutral soil environment. "Doing" also offers an important interaction between the participants and understanding group dynamics are what teamwork, trust and respect are everything.

The other quote comes from the mouth of the great philosopher Yogi Berra, who said: "You can observe a lot just by watching as trainers, we have the opportunity to stand outside and observe the behavior of this group is not critical eyes .. can add a new dimension to the team building and team development.

So start using your own critical eye, your experience and your intuition to create the most successful teams in your organization .......
